WHAT IS THE FEATHERING TECHNIQUE AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT?

The feathering technique is very different from other methods. The traditional method of implanting color into the skin involves a type of mechanical tattoo gun that creates bold results that are suitable for body tattoos, but not for the delicate features of the face.

Feathering is done with a small, non-mechanical handheld tool the size of a pencil that is very gentle on the skin and dedicated to produce a soft and natural look. This tool is specifically designed with this focus. Personalized pigments are gently tapped into the skin by hand, allowing for good control and depth of color. Also, all supplies and tools are disposable, so clients know that nothing that touches them has ever touched anyone else.

Why feathering?

With no other technique will you get such natural results such as soft line, blending of colors for an airbrushed appearance, and most importantly, gentleness on delicate facial skin. Colors are tapped into the skin by hand without the use of machines for exact precision. This allows for the most control and depth of color. You would be hard pressed to find more that one artist in a big city that practices feathering.
